I traveled a lot with my parents as a child. We had adventures in the Caribbean islands and on one occasion my younger brother and I had the trip of a lifetime to Tahiti (Moorea) and Bora Bora. I was ten years old. These getaways were more for my parents to relax and explore but boy, did we have a blast. They are lasting memories and now as an adult I still love to travel.

The best thing now is to get away with my life partner and create our own memories. What I learned traveling with my parents has become an integral part of who I am and I continue the family tradition by taking my son on adventures he too will treasure for a lifetime.

Getting away from the rat race is vital to your health and more importantly, your relationship. How often does life get in the way of even an hour to sit on the couch, hold hands and watch TV? The phone, the kids, the job. We have all been there, done that right?

Can you afford a few nights at The Ritz or is your ideal romantic getaway a weekend in the woods in a log cabin by the fire roasting marshmallows? You are limited only by your imagination. Over time I will post several ideas for that “rekindle your relationship” getaway and you can decide when and where the two of you want to escape to next time you need a break from reality.

Raise a glass of champagne and toast each other as you watch the sun set from your ocean side cabana. Here’s to the two of you. You deserve it.

Embrace each other!

Brenda has traveled the world since the age of seven and continues the tradition with her young son.She has experienced travel from researching a location to finding the hotel and planning sightseeing adventures. She is concerned about today’s divorce rates and strongly feels that romantic getaways would help reduce those numbers (and be a lot of fun too!).
